Four RBI Day For Amato Leads MAYHEM 8U Past South Shore Sharks


CJ A was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Friday, driving in four on two hits to lead Merrick MAYHEM 8U past South Shore Sharks AS 10-1 on Friday. CJ drove in runs on a grand slam in the fourth.

An early lead helped propel Merrick MAYHEM 8U to victory. Merrick MAYHEM 8U scored on a walk by MICHAEL D, a groundout by JACK B, and a home run by ANGEL T in the first inning.

Merrick MAYHEM 8U notched five runs in the fourth inning. Merrick MAYHEM 8U batters contributing to the big inning included BENJAMIN C and CJ, all driving in runs in the inning.


BRODY G earned the win for Merrick MAYHEM 8U. The righty lasted two innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out three and walking one. ANGEL and Brody F entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Brody recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Merrick MAYHEM 8U.


Tallo took the loss for South Shore Sharks AS. The hurler lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and five runs while striking out four.

Merrick MAYHEM 8U tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. CJ led the way with four.

South Shore Sharks AS stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one. DePace led the way with two. South Shore Sharks AS didn't commit a single error in the field. Vacchio had five chances in the field, the most on the team.
