LONG ISLAND JR DUCKS Nearly Erases 5-Run Deficit In Loss To MERRICK MAYHEM 9U


MERRICK MAYHEM 9U got out to a five-run lead in the third inning and held on for a 9-8 victory over LONG ISLAND JR DUCKS on Saturday. LONG ISLAND JR DUCKS put up seven runs in the failed comeback. Kolman, Erato, Shapiro, #52, Fredricks, and Cutronepicked up RBIs to lead the rally. Both offenses were strong at the plate as MERRICK MAYHEM 9U collected nine hits and LONG ISLAND JR DUCKS 11 in the high-scoring affair.


MERRICK MAYHEM 9U got on the board in the first inning when HAYDEN T singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. MERRICK MAYHEM 9U put up three runs in the sixth inning. KURT R had an RBI single in the inning to lead the run scoring.


LONG ISLAND JR DUCKS scored four runs in the sixth inning. LONG ISLAND JR DUCKS's big inning was driven by singles by #52 and Fredricks and by Cutrone.


ETHAN M was credited with the victory for MERRICK MAYHEM 9U. He surrendered three runs on six hits over four innings, striking out five and walking zero. HUDSON S threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.


#52 took the loss for LONG ISLAND JR DUCKS. He surrendered six runs on eight hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking one.


SPENCER B led MERRICK MAYHEM 9U with two hits in three at bats. TOMMY T led MERRICK MAYHEM 9U with five stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 12 stolen bases.


LONG ISLAND JR DUCKS scattered 11 hits in the game. #52 and Russo each had multiple hits for LONG ISLAND JR DUCKS. #52 went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead LONG ISLAND JR DUCKS in hits.
