MERRICK MAYHEM 8U defeated LI THUNDER RENZO 9-5 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at three with MERRICK MAYHEM 8U batting in the bottom of the fourth when BRADY K drew a walk, scoring one run. HAYDEN T led MERRICK MAYHEM 8U to victory by driving in six runs. He went 3-for-3 at the plate. HAYDEN drove in runs on a home run in the first and a grand slam in the fourth. LI THUNDER RENZO got things started in the first inning. LI THUNDER RENZO scored one run on a stolen base. MERRICK MAYHEM 8U took the lead for good with seven runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Tommy T drew a walk, scoring one run, BRADY drew a walk, scoring one run, ETHAN M drew a walk, scoring one run, and HAYDEN homered on a 3-2 count, scoring four runs. KURT R was on the mound for MERRICK MAYHEM 8U. He went two innings, allowing three runs on zero hits and striking out three. Clifford toed the rubber for LI THUNDER RENZO. He went three and a third innings, allowing seven runs on four hits and striking out three. Salem threw one and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen. MERRICK MAYHEM 8U socked two home run on the day. HAYDEN had a dinger in the first and fourth innings. HAYDEN led MERRICK MAYHEM 8U with three hits in three at bats. MERRICK MAYHEM 8U stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one. KURT led the way with four. MERRICK MAYHEM 8U was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.
